Dr. Knop completed his undergraduate studies in Ohio at Malone College and Kent State University. He then moved to Chicago to earn his Doctorate degree in Chiropractic from the National College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Knop has continued his education with a Master Certificate for Cervical Acceleration and Deceleration Injuries at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego and has his Diplomate from the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board. He presently is on the State Board as a district director, NOAC district chairman, Los Angeles College of Chiropractic post graduate chairman, sits on the Ohio Medicare Board, and is a Certified Peer Reviewer.
